I have an old wired system with a Beolink Passive connected to a speaker system, controlled by a Beosound 9000.
Sadly, the Beosound 9000 has died (will not turn on, no standby light at all, have checked the powerpoint).
I have a Playmaker that was also hooked into the Beosound 9000.
Would I be able to hook the Playmaker directly into the Beolink Passive to use the speakers? Please let me know how!
If not, any ideas on the best "fix", or should I replace with a wireless system?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, I believe you can - you need an RJ45>Powerlink Cable - if you have one give it a go, if not then Steve at Sounds Heavenly will be able to advise
Hi GillB and welcome to Beoworld.
If you order the cable from a B&O dealer, this is it
It is the socalled fully wired PL cable.
As written above, you can also get it from the site sponsor Steve SoundsHeavenly.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Do you have speakers in other rooms then?
Some people have replaced a Beosound as a core with Beolink converter - you would then connect the playmaker to the Beolink Converter and be able to acess it from other rooms with link products. If your sitting room has a TV then connect those speaker to the TV.
If you just have one pair of active speakers then connect the playmaker to them using the cable above.
I think we probably need more information on what you have and what you want to do
Thanks for your answers.
Now my question is, since the Beosound is no longer working, what do I hook all the cables to control all the speakers? Should I buy the Beosound Core?
