Hello everyone,
I am thinking of connecting an IR eye to a BeoLab 3500. My BeoLab 3500s are out of hands reach so I am not able to press timer/mute buttons. I would have preferred a wall switch that allows me to turn on the BL3500 on demand.
I have 2 possible solutions in mind.
1. Get IR Eye on the wall and connect self-developed IR transceiver on the other end of the cable hidden in the wall. So when I press the buttons on the IR Eye the IR signal Timer, Volume up/Down will be emitted.
2. Hard wire from the IR Eye (essentially keeping only the enclosure) 2 pair of wires to the main 3500 and connect them in parallel to the actual buttons.
I was also thinking of using Pin 6 (Datalink) in PL connector, but it will cut the ML off hence not sure this approach will work at all.
Has any had any experience with the subject?
thanks,
Zak

No....
....but why not use a remote control/Beo4.
Get a wall bracket for it and place it where it is handy.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks. Although I like Beo4 and it looks itself as an art statement on its own, its function is going to be massively under-utilised plus I will have a bunch of those placed next to every BL3500
I was thinking of making something more subtle and I like the shuffle pack design of an IR Eye.
I just completed development of NL integration with HomeKit, so I practically don't use BeoRemote One and control everything from within the iPhone home.app including lights automation such as hue which will fire on depending on the time of the day/TV-Radio Source selected on the tele for instance. I am now moving onto extending support for ML and MCL, the target will be to have all NL,ML, MCL products presented on internal web dashboard with ability to control from the web and from within HomeKit without the use of any ML/NL gateways. Actually if I manage to design small footprint WiFi 455KHz IR transmitter I will not require IR Eye and iPhone control will suffice.
