I have a Beomaster 2200 tuner/amp, with a Beogram 2200, Beocord 1900 and two Beovox S45 speakers. I have not used the system for a while. Recently when I powered on the Beomaster, it did initially power on. However, when the speakers were connected to it, the Beomaster failed to switch on.
The trouble is that B&O no longer has a dealer in Ottawa. The closest is Toronto or Montreal.
I am looking for someone who can do repair work on this setup without me having to take it to either one of these cities. Would anyone know of someone who can help?
I doubt B&O will be much help - you need to find someone who fixes electronics - the 2200 is a fascinating device as it is arranged in a modular fashion and the modules connected by prototyping wire. This has the advantage that it can be reduced to modules using little more than a screw driver. The service manual is on site if needed- likely to be in need of a service and this era of equipment normally needs the red capacitors changing and a few variable resistors (trimmers)
The cost in parts would be minimal but the diagnosis and labour rather more. You might even find someone of site willing to have a go at fixing it for you for a relatively nominal sum.
