I have recently bought a Beocenter 2200 at a car boot sale for £10. On getting it home I found that the truntable doesn't have a cartridge and the tape deck doesn't work. Not a massive problem as it looks great andc I was really only after it as a radio.
Now I've got it plugged in all the lights and the buttons work and the radio comes on. The problem is that the radio seems really hard to tune. The interference and distortion is very loud and when tuning it is very hard to spot when you have actually hit upon a station. Also when you do find a station it only seems to stay tuned for a short period before becoming distorted again. I have plugged in an FM interior ribbon aerial.
I have to say I'm pretty clueless with all this and only bought it because it was cheap, looks great in an 80s retro style and I used to have a beomaster 2000 back in the mid 80s.
Is this an major problem with the tuning mechanism of the unit itself? Or something that can be fixed relatively easily?
Thanks for your help
