Hi!

I have a Beogram 1000 that I currently have connected to a pair of old B&G speakers through a Beomaster 1000 amplifier.

I recently realized that instead of having two sets of speakers though I should try and connect the turntable to my pair of OD-11's from Teenage Engineering (https://www.teenageengineering.com/products/od-11).

I've read their guide on how to connect an old turntable to the speakers (https://www.teenageengineering.com/guides/od-11) and I've connected it through and external RIAA amplifier (this one: https://www.phonopreamps.com/tc750pp.html).

So from the turntable I've now got a DIN 5 connector to RCA into the external RIAA amp. From the amp I've got RCA to 3,5mm into the line in on the OD-11 speaker. But for some reason no sound at all comes out from the speakers.

I've talked to the customer support at Teenage Engineering and the setup seems to be correct. The turntable also works fine in itself (and with the Beomaster 1000). Any idea what could be the problem here? Could of course be that the RIAA amp is faulty somehow, or that the speaker's line-in isn't working properly but before I start to consider that, can you find any major flaws in the setup?

Super thankful for any advice you might have!

Are you sure your 5-pin DIN to RCA adapter is the right way around?
They come as either playback or record types, using different pins in the DIN.

Hmmm interesting, how do I know that exactly?

The adapter I have is this one.

I agree with Martin. Probably the wrong adapter. Can you test the DIN’s pinout with an ohmmeter?

Nice speakers, that remind me of old Sonab products of course. Wink

You were both right! I bought another adapter where the chart specifically showed that it was meant for this purpose and now everything works perfectly!

And yeah the speakers are really nice (pricy though). They're a really great type of releaunch of the old Carlsson speakers!

Anyway thanks so much to the both of you for such quick responses!

Thanks for keeping us posted, and welcome to Beoworld by the way!
