Hello,
I have (still) a Beocord V8000 videorecorder.
How can I manually make a recording WITHOUT any remote.!
As it seems there is ( among other) a PLAY button on the recorder but NOT a Record button.
Thanks
Dirk
You're right - there is no Record button. So you'll have to use a remote (and Beovision).
So when I have a remote Beo4 or Beolink 1000 , I still need a Beovision TV set.?
It wil not work on a other brand TV like Sony, Philips, Panasonic and other NON B&O tv-sets?

Unfortunately that is correct.
However, if you take the top off the V8000 there is a small short range IR receiver on the top left of the chassis that will accept commands direct from a B&O remote. It is normally used for IRSS (IR Service Software) control, but I believe it would also allow you to select normal functions such as play and record, albeit from very short range, and with the set partially dismantled!
I will try this.... thank you
The IR sensor is a little tricky to find! It's on the top right hand side of a vertically orientated module to the left of the tape mechanism.
Why not just get another VCR on ebay - I take it is to play back something treasured? Sell the V8000 and you will get more than it costs to get a VCR that works without dismantling it!! The V8000 is just a Philips anyway! If you had a VX5000, it would be different, but that has a record button on it anyway!!
