New member here looking forward to learning lots of new things on the forum. Smile

First thing is I need a bit of help from a B&O expert. I own a Loewe Bild 7.55 and I'm planning to add a nice clean pair of Beolab 8002/ fronts while utilising the existing speaker for a centre. Problem is I'm not sure of the best way to connect them to the display?

Once connected I want to make sure the existing speaker can be used as a centre.

I see posts suggesting the Almando Multiplay Stereo is a good option. Perhaps an owner could recommend?

Any help or other advice would be appreciated.

John

I think with just two speakers you could do an optical cable but iam not sure. Svinaik seems to be the resident expert atm Big Smile

If you use that box it disables the centre speaker, which is a shame really as it really quite good. I got the satellite speakers connected to the Loewe sub. Later on I’ll use them as rears and connect Klang 9s wirelessly for the front.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Hi Rafiki,

I think you only need the Almondo Box if you want to connect a second sound source to the Beolabs in addition to the Loewe. Some beoworld members are using a Beosound system in parallel, and they are using the Almando box.

i have a Loewe Bild 5 and 5 Beolabs connected to the TV, 2 Beolabs 18 in front, 2 Beolab 3 in back and a Beolab 19 as a subwoofer. The Loewe TV sounder is used as a center.

What you need is (original names from my Loewe dealer):

- one "Loewe Converter Digital Audiolink - Audiolink": this converter has on TV side an RJ45 connector, the other end is the Loewe Audiolink plug (looks like a small Scart plug), €80

- one "Loewe Audiolink 30cm/9Pin 5+1 out + Center in": this has on one side the connection to Loewe Audiolink, the other end are 5 chinch connections. I guess the chinch connections can be used with Lowe speakers directly, €120

My Loewe dealer cutted the chinch plugs and fitted Powerlink plugs. From these Powerlink Plugs I am using original B&O Powerlink cables to the Beolabs.

Works perfect. All Beolabs turn on/off with TV, there is no humming or other distortion. The Beolabs do not turn off during "silent" phases.

Have fun,

The smaller almando box you displayed limits your options in the future.

Go for the "bigger" one. But the "smaller" one also is doing a great job.

https://almando.com/index.php/almando-multiplay-surround-powerlink-switch.html

I just bought the LOEWE bild 5.55 oled.

Setup

Loewe Bild 5.55 OLED with center speaker on table foot and black alu assist remote

almando surround box

BeoSound 4 connected via powerlink to almando box

BeoLab 9 connected via powerlink to almando box

BeoLab 8000 connected via powerlink to almando box

If you switch on the BS4 all 4 speakers (BL9 + BL8000) receive the signal (after switching off, the speaker also switch off directly). Runs perfect.

The Loewe has a surround speaker modul like the e.g. BV10 (seat distance for each speaker incl. inbuild center, dB adjustment, sound adjustment). TV is off. If you ture the TV on and you have the dolby digital signal availabe all speaker run very proper.

LOEWE bild 5.55 OLED + AppleTV; BS4; BL9; BL8000 MKII all black

@Rafiki

I would strongly suggest the Almando Multiplay Surround. It will give you all the options to set up the surround system as you want. You can choose to use the TV speaker as the center speaker and use the B&O as front and surround or use any external speaker as the center speaker and mix and match any B&O speakers for front and surround.

Just take the sound out from Loewe (Loewe Digital Audio Link - Dal - RJ 45 connector) and plug it into the Almando Multiplay surround (RJ 45) and then connect all your speakers directly to Almando.

Let us know what your final setup is (what speakers and how many) and I or PCS can guide on the actual steps.

To be honest I never expected such quick replies especially at this time of year so thank you all. Thumbs Up

I'm already getting sucked in  Whistle and already started looking at adding a beolab 2 and I've not sourced the 8002's yet.

Looks like I was on the right track and the Almando Multiplay Surround will give me some future proofing.

These 8002's look to be a tidy pair and the Trustpilot reviews make very good reading. I'm a novice so really need the12 month warranty on offer however I would be interested to hear from anyone who has a better source.Fleabay is not my cup of tea though.

Thank you again to those who have replied and a very 'Merry Christmas' to all.

@Rafiki

You may also use the following forum where many more people interact and hep out. They may be better than me in answering some technical question.
