Hi all and Merry Christmas,

My parents have owned a B&O system for as long as I can remember (over 30 years).  This currently consists of a BeoCenter 7007 connected to a pair of Beovox S45 speakers (the 2 way version).  It also used to power a pair of Beovox C40 speakers in a different room, although these have been unused for some time following renovation.

I thought I might take the C40 speakers on to use with a SMSL SA-36A Pro amp.  However, they are in need of some TLC.  The foam around the woofers is shot and I am wonderinghow extensive any refurbishment should be.  Should I simply refoam the speakers?  Could brand new drivers be used?  Given the age of the speakers, might the capacitors need replacing too?

I have taken the speakers apart and found that the bass driver is labled "8480143 Japan 331TNG".  There is also a single bipolar Elko Rauh 15MFD63v capacitor present.  Can anyone recommend replacements?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have good memories associated with the speakers and would like to hear them at their best.

Thank you

There are many professional speaker reconers who will install new foam.

I have been using Solen capacitors for many years in my speaker restorations.

Specifically this 400V PB series. You'd need a PB1500 model for your 15uF cap.
