Hi there!

New to BeoWorld. I would like to get some opinions or advice on what would work best/great setup for a near 5.1 surround sound home theatre system. I have been looking into Beolab 18 and Beolab 19 for quite some time. I'm not sure if a Beosound 35 is necessary or not; hence, why I said a "near" 5.1 surround sound.

I have a 50" Sharp LED TV (model # lc-50lb150u). In case if anybody is interested in its brief specs, here is a link to it:

https://www.cnet.com/products/sharp-lc-50lb150u/specs/

I also need an advice for a receiver too that can/may work with this kind of setup despite the vast difference in technology compatibility between my old tv and B&O speakers.

I am not aware if B&O do any kind of financing or not, knowing how costly it can get, but I would like to get a general idea or some information on it if possible.

Lastly, I'm thinking about making a trip to B&O store in NY perhaps next month, or so, to get a demo tour and get a chance to talk to one of the experts there as well.

Fun fact: My first B&O purchase was a small A8 earphones that I bought many years ago, and I was really impressed by its sound quality compared to other competitors at the time, and also of the elegant looks too.

Thanks

Hmm, that’s a hard(er) one. Does the tv have a surround decoder? If yes, go with the almando surround box and then it’s easy. Other than that iam not that well versed with other recievers that could work.

As for center speaker, a beolab 7-2 or so would probably be better. But again, not entirely sure, eitherway with the almando box it would be easy enough to connect and set up.

New: Beovision Harmony, Beolab 50's, Beolab 28's, Beolab 18's, Beolab 17's, Beosound Stage & LG, Beosound 2, Beoplay M3, Beoplay A1, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay H4 gen 2, Beoplay E8 3.0

The cnet specs say “surround sound....yes” but not the level (5.1, 7.1, ...)

There is a toslink optical digital output ... but I can’t make sense of the specifications of RCA, RCAx2, RCAx3 !

There are many threads mentioning what Mikipedia has recommended. When I find a reference I’ll post it for you.

Hi,

I am using a setup pretty closet what you are looking for and it works well.

I have a Samsung TV and I am using Beolab 18, 19 front, and Beolab 15 ceiling mounted all wirelessly via Transmitter 1 -even the 15's.

I am using a Marantz SR 5008 as the AV Receiver and because it is close and convenient, the center speaker is wired into the Marantz.

The Marantz also is good for blue tooth and air play, so I can stream from my I pad.

All in all works well and has been in place since 2014 - good luck.

I take it you are using the marantz and and the transmitter 1 together ?

Is that because so you can use the wireless function of the lab speakers with the marantz via the transmitter ?
