The day I opened and activated my Beo8 ear buds, everything worked.  I pushed the right earbud, volume went up; I pushed left earbud, volume went down.  All good.

Two days after receiving my Beo8 noise cancelling ear buds, the left earbud stopped working.  The volume on my phone started cycling up and down.

The next day, I could not activate my ear buds at all.  They appeared to be fully charged.  However, when I took the right earbud out of the case, I got a solid blue light, not a white light.  When I turned on my iPhone 7 and activated Bluetooth, the blue light on the right earbud went dark.

My phone showed Beo8 in Blue Tooth, but when I punched Beo8 the phone responded that it could not connect and to make sure the Beo8 devices were within range (they were 2 feet from the phone) and turned on (see previous observation about blue light winking out.)  I have tried to turn on the earbuds by tapping the right earbud, but that does not seek to do anything. I've tried turning Blue Tooth on and off on the phone, but that doesn't seem to do anything.  I've tried to "pair" the earbuds to the phone again but pressing them both simultaneously for 5-10 seconds, but that doesn't appear to do anything.

Are my earbuds defective?  Should I return them?
