Recently I have bought the faulty Beo6 remote for repair. When I have disassembled it, I noticed that there were several stickers one over other:
That looked interesting, so I decided to check.
The upper said the remote is the Beo6
The next one was Beo6 again.
The last one was on the paper, that did not allow to peel the upper sticker, so I have pictured it against the light. Beo5.
From this exercise i can tell that the only difference in Beo5 and Beo6 is the display module. The rest could live to the next generation.

If you had a beo5 and it failed within the warranty period or after if you paid for it, then you could only get a Beo6 replacement screen, so the Beo5 became a Beo6.
There was very few spare Beo5 screens/electronics after production finished, so B&O were force to supply the Beo6 screen.

Hello Keith,
as I'm not often on this forum, I don't really know where to look for the right information. However I saw your name several times and you seem to have a lot of (inside?) information/ knowledge
I have a problem configuring a beo6. I have downloaded the CT6.84. The firmware on the beo6 is 3.30a
I's installed on a Windows 10 pro system and I even tried the window XP sp3 compatibility mode. But no luck so far
I start the program and try working offline. So far all seems right.
When I start finalizing, the downloading of the firmare proceeds till the end,but the writing never starts. Although I had the (new) battery fully loaded when I started, it shows that it's almost empty after these few minutes of trying.
I hope you kan provide me with some tips and tricks to solve this problem.
Or maybe someone else?
Thanks in advance.
regards, Marc
