I recently bought a MX 3500 it's from 1989, and I can't figure out how to set it to AV mode or SCART connection, I got a Nintendo SNES connected with a SCART cable and it's been driving me nuts for days now.

I've got a remote with it but figured out it wasn't the correct one (This one)

so I bought beolink 1000 remote but it does the same thing when I press the menu I get this

AV button does nothing, I've searched far and wide for a manual found MX series one but it shows a complete different menu then I get, I've been turning it to all the connection types Decode 1/2/3/4 V TAP 1 /2 ect ect without any luck it only get static snow.

This is the type:

I'm doing something wrong? I just want to play my snes on it :( I got a science degree but I feel like a complete idiot with this thing.

You should be able to set up the tv with the Beo4 type remote that you have pictured, but it's easier with the Beolink 1000 handset that would have come with the tv originally. These often crop up on e.bay etc at nice prices!

I have a user guide for this tv,but I imagine that it is available via this site also,if you upgrade your membership(good value!)

You need to set up the tv inputs,so that they correspond with the buttons on the handset.Eg,if you set input 1 to "v.tape",when you press that button it will open the #1 input.Having set the input(s?)you need to store the setting too of course.

The snowy display is simply showing that the tv is in it's normal(analogue reception mode.
