Hi everyone,

A couple weeks ago, I received a phone call from a friend about a big TV laying in the street. I want to check and it was a pretty decent beovision 5, so I brought it home.

I have never even set foot in a B&O retail shop, the price range being way above my financial capacity, so I was pretty stoked to have found this TV.

The problem is : I've never used one, I don't have any remote to test it, and I don't know anybody who would have a Beo4 remote. I took the front panel apart to check a couple of things.

When I plug it in, I can hear relays clicking and the green led behind the tape on the plasma panels lights up. However, a couple seconds later, I can head a relay clicking again (seems to be behind the panel, near the top of the TV, but I'm not sure) and the green light turns off. However, the red led in the little dome on top of the TV turns on and stays on.

Can anyone tell me if it's normal behaviour for this TV ?

If it is, I might try to rig up a temporary IR remote with an Arduino and IR codes I found to try to turn it on and check the state of the TV before paying close to 100€ for a second-hand Beo4...

Also, I found a service manual containing the schematics / PCB but there's no troubleshooting steps, or disassembly instructions. Anyone got those ?

Thanks !

NB : I'm kind of good at electronics, not a pro but more of an above average amateur, so rading schematics / desoldering components etc... is not a problem, but it's hard to know if something doesn't work if you never seen it working before...

Well, I just found the repair guide for the Plasma Display Panel, so I guess I have the answer to my question : the green led should stay on, so it's either the F900 & F901 fuses, the P Module that is defective or the 240V AC on M60 being wonky.
