Please let me know if this post doesn't belong here..

Hello gents/ladies. Need your help. I have a bunch of B&O stuff that I no longer need and I don't know much about these as I acquired these from the previous home owner (recently bought this house).

The paper work shows that these were brought new in 2008. This is what I have

1 - BeoCenter 2 Master & Socket Unit with all the cables

5 - BeoLab 3 MK-III Acoustic Lens Speakers (with 2 floor stands, 3 table stands & 1 wall bracket) with all the cables

1 - BeoLab 2 Active Subwoofer with all the cables

1- FM Antenna

I hooked up the unit to test this out. The system is fully functioning. Normal cosmetic wear and tear for its age. I will try to post some pictures if it helps.

Two questions:

1) Although the set has 5 speakers I could only hook up 3 of them from the BeoLab 2 subwoofer unit. I presume there was more to the unit that was not left behind by the previous owner?

2) What would be the value of these if I have to post it up for sale (in this forum or ebay)?

Thanks in advance.

- Nithin

Yes, you may be right that the previous owner took their most valuable unit(s) with them: most likely a BeoVision - which could have had surround sound hence the 5.1 configuration of speakers.

You have a valuable complete set-up: valuable in the sense that all you would have to do is find a BeoVision from the PST 10 years :)

However it shoulda like you wish to sell.

And in the case the kit has less intrinsic value as you are breaking it apart.

Depending upon your country, location within, offering to host inspections, offering drop off and/ or pickup ... could give you a small premium.

Complete documentation, pristine manuals, and existing packaging (if the prior owners kept that and left it behind) would also add a premium.

Shipping (with robust packaging) and insurance would present you with costs and effort.

A search on eBay for these products in your area would be a good guide to prices.

To sell on BeoWorld you need to have joined with a modest subscription fee.

Most of the members here would NOT want to sell this ‘gift’!

Of course there are reasons for wanting to sell the gear.

But - as elephant indicates - it might be interesting for you to find out how you could use this nice speakers combo, before it goes on Ebay.

Thank you for taking time to respond.

So BeoVision is what is missing! I might well not want to look for one at this time. Have some different plans.

This is in the US (Tennessee), most willing to host inspections (but not sure how many of those interested would be local). I think I have the sale recipient, few original Guides (BeoLab 2, BeoLab 3, BeoCenter 2 & BeoCenter 2 Socket Unit). No original boxes, but I am well abreast of shipping heavy electronics double boxed with styrofoam and wraps. Safe, secure and insured shipping shouldn't be a deal breaker.

And thanks, I looked up on ebay and found some trace..

- a pair of BeoLab 3 with floor stands are listed between $1799 and $2200 + shipping

- a pair of BeoLab 3 with table stands are listed between $1100 and $4750 + shipping. Not sure of the extreme ranges.. all were 100% functional with varied cosmetic conditions. Could MK I / II / III be a factor too?

- BeoLab 2 is listed between $1000 and $1800 + shipping

- Beocenter 2 & Socket Unit  between $1000 and $1800 + shipping.

Are the above prices true to be sold? I couldn't find any SOLD prices. If I have to consider what I have is 6.5/10 cosmetic condition (100% functional), can you help me arrive at a ballpark $$ that I can expect to sell these?

And yes I already subscribed for Bronze :) Once I get all your inputs on the pricing, I can probably post the list in the For Sale section.

And yes, I could only try the 3.1 and it was truly a different experience!! Unfortunately I will be going the other way and wouldn't want to retain it for some good reasons. :(

The BL3/2 combination is a great sounding bit of kit. Perhaps selling the Beocenter etc. and using that money to purchase a Core or second hand Essence can give you a nice B&O sound machine. Just some food for thought.
