Purchased my first B&O Sound System, BM5 and BS5 (used). I connected it and I'm getting screen prompts as though I'm suppose to have a keyboard, i.e., Select the operating system to start, Beomaster 5 or Beomaster 5 Recovery, for troubleshooting press F8. Also, after a few seconds the screen goes blank and the LED starts blinking what appears to be morse code, 3 long blinks followed by 3 short blinks (S.O.S). Is this normal? What am I suppose to do? Can anyone help me?
Getting very frustrating.....
All you have to do is wait. It will take 5 - 10 minutes to restart. When the red led light is continue active, you can use the system.
I had the same issue. The motherboard is broken (bad caps in my case). You can get the caps replaced by an electronics repair shop or buy a new motherboard from Bang&Olufsen.
Thank you so much... I'm new to the Bang & Olufsen world and I'm learning all I can. I took your advise and my BS5 did exactly as you said. Now, I have to learn how to operate it. I have printer all the user manuals. Thanks again.
