If a speaker crossover network fails, or more accurately is failing, how would you know?
In the case of my much discussed S120.2 speakers I now have my Beomaster 4500 set at -4 for the treble and +3 for the bass and the sound still is unpleasant.
I then decided to set everything at 0 thinking the excesses were straining my declining Beomaster 4500, but OMG that didn’t work.
I then took the same cassette and played it on my BeoCenter 9000 and there was at LEAST 50% more bass, set a 0, and the upper end sounded let us say OK, less complex than the Beomaster 4500, but less annoying as well.
As you guys know I am an enthusiast, not technical mavens like most of you.
And IF it sounds like I have a crossover network problem, what the heck to I do about it? Or is it more if the crossover network fails a speaker or speakers fail to work? If so, that's not my problem.
