Hi guys,

I am in need of some expert advice, i just got ahold of a nice beocenter 2500 unit for active speakers, the problem is just that i dont have any, But i do have an older beomaster 3500 unit with amplifier, and passive beovox speakers.

Can i connect the beocenter 2500 with the beomaster 3500 via masterlink and use the interface of the beocenter 2500 to control the music being played through the beomaster 3500?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks,

stefan

Welcome to Beoworld.

None of the Beo products you mentioned has a Masterlink socket, so should be difficult. If your BC2500 actually is an Ouverture, which has a Masterlink product, you can try a Beolink video MKII to connect both systems. BM3500 should be SW 1.X, the same as in BM4500 one way version.

Ouverture - ML cable - BL video - datalink cable - BM3500 (TV/AUX input).

If both systems are in the same room set Ouverture to A.OPT 0 (press OUND - 0 - STORE) and BM3500 to A.OPT 2 (SOUND - 2 - STORE)

Now pressing CD (RADIO) should activate CD port (Radio) of your BM3500, pressing LINK CD (LINK RADIO) will activate CD (Radio) of your Ouverture and activates BM3500 AUX port.

Much simpler will be to get an MCL 2P (Beo-amplifier for passive speakers connected to Powerlink socket).

Or connect Powerlink out of your Ouverture to CD and A.TAPE  in of your BM3500, not a perfect solution, but works.

You will find more info about wiring on the Beotech site.

Hope this helps

Stefan
