Hello,

My BeoGram 7000 was working fine, I only had some mechanical scraping sounds when the tone arm reached near the centre of the disc. In attempt to adjust fo this I took out the plate for the LP to see whether the vinyl disc had been bumped down so the plate turning was sitting a little too low.

Anyhow, replacing the disc plate and I now can't make the BeoGram 7000 to function as it should again. Are there any tips as to how the cogs and all should be positioned when putting installing the plate again please?

I am sure I have not broken anything as I have been careful but I am sure the cogs are now wrongly positioned as I have moved them around.

(The symptoms are now that the arm does not attempt to move and no the string is not broken, still attached).

I would really be a happy camper to get it working again as I have just invested in having the MMC refurbished so was looking forward to using the BeoGram.

Many thanks!

Hello,

I here attach a picture of the inside of my BeoGram 7000. Can anyone spot what is wrong?

I can get it to work as much as it will start, arm move into the plate. Pressing off the arm will go back but the plat will continue to spin. Where am I going wrong please? The service manual I have is not very helpful in terms of how all cogs and wheels need to be positioned when putting the platter back into place.

Hopeful of help please.

If the turntable was working perfectly you can remove and replace the platter and sub-platter without repositioning the gears or anything else.  Just wrap the rubber belt around the sub-platter again.  You might have damaged it by manually moving the gears.  And sorry, I can't tell from your photo if anything looks wrong.

The reason for the scraping might be that the three (3) transport screws on the bottom of the turntable were not disengaged fully.  Without flipping the turntable upside down make sure that these 3 screws are fully loosened.  They will not come out.
