I have just or soon to acquire a BV10 40"
on the subject of blu-ray dvd what Beo4 compatible dvd players are there which could be strapped to the back of the TV?
The dealer is wanting to charge me £450.00 for a blu-ray dvd player (bracket for free!!).
He was also mentioning a sensor but I wasn't sure if this was required or if it is just for a remote DVD player.
thanks in advance

congratulations on your choice
OPPO are the BR players that B&O tends to recommend - the price is probably right - just check which OPPO model you are getting and that it is NEW and not a demonstrator model
OPPO models are said to have a special B&O version - the only advantage I have heard about this is that you don't see the OPPO splash screen
The sensor is a PUC (peripheral unit controller) a very thin cable with a small infrared transmitter at the end that attaches to the OPPO's infrared sensor and a mini-jack at the other end that plugs into the BV - it relays the Beo remote's commands (sometimes after translation e.g. B&P to Apple, or in your case OPPO) as well as using the IR frequency that most of the world uses as opposed to what B&O implemented in its remotes (which is a very strong signal and why you don't need to aim the Beo remote at the BV's eye)
BeoNut since '75
I believe that if using the Oppo it is possible to use a jack plug to jack plug puc cable instead of sticking the ir emitter on the facia of the DVD player.

Guys!
If it's strapped to the back on the TV, it is not that dodgy Samsung 7500?
Avoid those like the plague as so many people have returned them due to poor reliability.
I know Panasonic make a flat Blu Ray player that would probably fit on the back on the TV. Plus of course it will work with the Beo4. Panasonic make some amazing quality players...
