Hi guys, I'm new to B&O and wanted to ask your opinion.

I can purchase either the Beovox loudspeakers or the RL 60 Red Line for the same price. Both are used, and I need speakers and appreciate B&O quality.

What should I get?

What model are the other Beovox speakers? RL60s are a type of Beovox - passive loudspeakers designed in particular for use with Japanese hi-fi but not bad at all. Are they RL60s or 60.2s? The original 60 model has an Auxiliary Bass Radiator which is prone to foam rot so is best avoided unless already repaired.

And the sound of the RL60's are incredible. Sold a lot of those and very popular here in Holland to sell and buy. Thankful objects for restoration...

And if it is a 60.2, it comes highly recommended! Those are brilliant speakers.

Do tell us what the other BeoVox is that way we help you the best.

The M70's are superb speakers. If the redlines are RL60's they will definately need work where as the M70s dont suffer from foam rot (I think, someone correct me if I am wrong!) I would go for the M70's all day long.

The M range of speakers are the Monitor range - these are the best at the time that B&O made. The M70 is quite an old speaker and will probably need new capacitors in the cross over - but so will the RLs which get very dull with age. If the M70s come with the gorgeous trumpet stands, buy them immediately!  I have given away two pairs of RL60.2 speakers but have kept my M100s!

M70 owner and fan here.

That crossover has at least 9 capacitors.  You have been warned.

As for me, I want a pair of MS 150 very badly. Like an MC 120 with bass for organ music!

But very rare here in France, and the ones for sale are ludicrously expensive, often they show up at more than €500, with so-called re-foam'd woofers but you-can-see-the-glue-on-their-cones ones even dearer, well you get it!

An example, from a B&O dealer.

Sh1T! Missed that one... But I found a pair M75's at the local dumpyard which needs a lot of attention. They look ugly with foamrot on both drivers!

A challenge....

I thought M75s were rubber too except the phase link unit. The M100 is rubber.

I had MS150s but sold them when I sold the 8000 system. Very good speakers with a very flat frequency response. However not as pretty as M100s! Smile
