Just out of curiousity......when I connect my Beolab 8000's to my Beosystem 3500, the amp of the Beomaster is obviously bypassed. My question is does the amp switch off or does it still function? So if you turn up the volume is the amp of the Beomaster also working pushing out power?

Yes indeed,but you can use it drive speakers in another room say,or praps connect a pair of passive speakers to make up an ersatz surround system?
