Hi,
I have just aquired a Beosound 9000 MK1 (1997 model - Type No: 2521, Serial No: 1215****)
Connecting possibilities: Powerlink, Masterlink, Digital out and Antenna.
I was wondering if anyone has succesfully been able to play from any soundsource other than CD and Radio from this system an if so how they did it and what converters they used?
Any answers will be much appreciated.

For the 252x versions (mkI and mkII) is there softwareupdate 2.2. available.
This software update makes the BS9000 Netmusic/Netradio compatible.
Ok, what does that mean exactly?
Is all MK1 BS9000 252x version, if not how do I check this?
and how do I update the software in this?
Hi
You don't seem to know where the label is located.
You will find it under the keyboard of the beosound.

There is an Aux socket next to the two Powerlink loudspeaker sockets. The Aux socket is a 7 pin din socket but you can use a standard 5 pin plug to connect to an external device. A popular option is to get a 5 pin din plug to 3.5mm jack plug. This allows you to play audio from any device with a headphone socket. Alternatively you can use 5 pin din plug to two phono plugs and connect to a device with line level output.

And that will let you attach a Playmaker or an Apple Airport Express so that you can play digital music collections - including from a network storage device or your portable devices (phone, tablet)
Or, if you have a digital music collection on a PC (Apple or Windows) you can attach a BeoPort black box and play N-Music from the PC's digital library or internet radio's (N-Radio)

if you want to connect a device with a "3,5mm earphone socket" order from your B&O dealer (for approx 15 EUR) a "Cable 7pin DIN < > JACK 3.5mm / 3m" - B&O Item# 6277956
Thanks for the answers!
So I only need "7DIN to 3.5mm Jack" plug then, I do not need to get any software updates?

You'll need the SW update (exchaging an EPROM chip) only if you aditionally want to use a BeoMaster5+BeoSound 5 or BeoLink PC2 = BeoPort in the the MasterLink setup TOGETHERwith your BeoSound 9000. Then you can control all sources from every link-room via your Beo 4/5/6 remote.
The simple "cable solution" does of course not offer any control of the "external" source.
