Hi.  I've had a BS3 that I bought used several months ago.  Never used it as much asI thought I would but it worked great when I did.  I pressed the top panel tonight and, although the powered light is on on the front panel (while it is plugged in), nothing happens when I press anything on the top panel.  I've seen some issues listed here but they all seem to indicate something a little different.  Could this be because the battery is not taking any charge at all?  And why would that occur when it is always plugged in?  Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.  Thanks

If you haven't used it for some time, you need to 'activate' it by plugging it into the mains.  Then unplug it and it works fine (assuming the battery is fully charged)

I actually have it plugged in all the time but haven't actually played it for several weeks.  I can't tell if it's the top panel control issue (only) but there seems to be some weirdness going on there.  Nothing responds.  Odd that it would just go out without any activity previous to the problem.

It sure sounds like the common touchpad issue.  It's been suggested that humidity plays a role.

It does sound like the touchpad issue, my father got it two weeks ago, the display just showed three dash like "- - -" and did not respond at all.

also he had no issue up to that behaviour started. it "fixed" itself a couple of times, while he was at the dealers to leave it for service, and he brought it back home once, the second time it did the same but he left it anyway Hmm

The panel was changed without charge and works fine now.
