I went out a bought a used pair of S8's including the Connection hub. I didn't have the opportunity to take a listen at sellers house, so I transported them home safely to set them up. At some frequencies the sub makes a rattling noise, sounds like a mix of a loose screw and electrical noise, however it might just be the rubber surround which is worn? What do you think? And can I fix it? The warranty ran out in March...

Take a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMVROLMCAKA

That video doesn’t help at all. Maybe play some more music for a longer period of time so we can hear what is happening. I’ve owned a couple of S8s. Pretty fun speaker. Can you reproduce the noises without the satellites attached?

Did a child drop a penny in the top port?

Its the rattle heard more prominently in the end of the video. I will try to see if I can reproduce it with music playing instead. I haven't tried with the satellites attached, but I'm certain that the sound comes from the sub.

That noise is usually the internal bass tube which has broken off its mount internally. A common problem that happened in shipping usually. If you can open it up you should be able to glue/epoxy it back.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

How hard is it usually to glue back on?
