hi,

i have a beotime and the chime  isn’t working for the alarm. I’ve changed the batteries, but while it can control switching something on, the chime doesn’t start up. Oddly, one in a while when I press the flute back in, I get one chime, so I know the chime itself is working.

‘’Any thoughts on how to switch the chime back on?

It has a bad contact. You need to disassemble the entire unit. And the part is very difficult to remove.

Get the service manual.

Good luck Big Smile

Hi frog,

My Beotime also has this problem - I didn't want to risk opening it up so I have lived with the fault for a year or so, now I prefer it this way (The Beotime activates my bedroom lights and music from my Beosystem 3500 in the lounge below, so it is much more restful to wake up to gentle music and the light gradually brightening without the incessant chiming!)

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted......

Kind regards, Steve.

Yes, I have opened one before - and it wasn’t pretty. I think I’ll live with it as it is!
