Hi

I can't explain why there are such differences (High and bass) between the same pair of beolab 6000 playing with my beovision av9000 and the same with my BV5.

The av 9000 has just the central speaker and the BV 5 has its stereo speakers.

Please, help me solve this strange situation.

? all sound settings on both TVs set to "flat" during the comparison ?
!  in different rooms the sound will be different !
!  the placement eg "free standing" versus "close to wall / corner" will change the sound dramatically !

Hi Vienna

Thanks for your help

Same settings, same room, same song or movie, and same placement.

I have the feeling that the beolab 6000 are "unused" with the beovision 5.

WIth the av 9000 , I can choose stereo or 2.1 output.

With the BV5, I can't. If I plug the beolab 6000, I have only AC3, not stereo (wwith front only).

I do prefer the BV5 with its buit in speakers.

Very strange.

Very strange.

As far as I remember the AV 9000 offered just 2 types of speakers - those days one setting was for Pentas, the
other one for BLb 8000s and smaller speakers.

The Dolby System of a BV 5 is much more sophisticated and "takes care" about the bass capabilities of the
speakers you are using.

Try a "misadjustment" in the speaker selection of your  BV5  (eg by selecting BLb1 as front speakers) instead
of BLb 6000 and listen to the difference ...

And make sure that "Subwoofer" is also set to "None" if there is no Sub connected.

Then try "SPEAKER" + "2" for stereo and  "SPEAKER" + "3" for all 3 front speakers.

I have already tried these solution.

I forgot to mention that I selected speaker 2 ... and changed the type of speakers. I haven't  tried all, but some and it didn't make any changement at all.

Maybe be more sophisticated, but less efficient for the moment :)

The sound is still very flat.

I have used them even with my beocenter 2 and I was satisfied by the results in stereo mode.

Well, I will make more test this week end.

Thanks
