If you have a multi-room setup wit Chromecast Audio`s, you can now add Chromecast video devices to the mix.
So you can now listen to that same spotify track in your bedroom, bathroom, and on your TV at the same time.
Is this the final nail in the coffin?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Sure - once your CC has been updated - mine is not yet!
’Nail in the coffin’ - which nail and which coffin?
I see it as an attempt from Google to catch up with Apples AirPlay 2.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I just mean that Googlex ecosystem is very friendly. The only thing that lacks now is the you could stream video to a CC and the audio portion of the video to a CCA.

Depending on your preferences, there might be a problem with the CEC function usually built in to new tv’s.
Casting to the CC will turn on the tv and display the content, that the app usually shows - sometimes interesting, in other cases boring, annoying.
And not everyone will want to have the screen on, when listening to music/radio...
It is not always possible to turn off the screen.
CEC is smart, but can in this case be something, that is unwanted.
This - of course - is not the case with most B&O tv’s (since there is no CEC there).
As already noted (on a BV8) you could turn on the CC-input port with an AV prefix.
How this will work on later BSys4-based BV, I don’t know - and I am not able to test it, since my CC hasn’t updated yet.
Here you could Mute the screen - however, if there will be a delay due to the sound processing, will be interesting to see.
With casting you can’t just add a room/device like NL-users know it (the join function).
The only way is to change the group to another group, that includes the wanted room/device.
This means using your phone/tablet and the app each time you enter a room, where you want to ‘listen in’.
And there is also no way to distribute the sound to another device (keeping the picture on the tv)....like ATV/AP2 users know it.
Casting still has some drawbacks - there will be costumers, who will be pleased using it..........others - used to the simplicity of NL-distribution - maybe will be more sceptic.
jans: Is this a feature only available on new Video Chromecasts or is it part of a software update for existing CC models?

As far as I know, all devices will be updated....eventually.
Can be solved by creating multiple groups.
But at the moment it does not work with joining rooms.
