Hello everyone;
Probably a question that pops up quite regularly, but here we go again. After spending a couple of days servicing my 3600 I have the following issue, the turntable speed is slightly off.
With the pitch turned to the fastest setting, speeds are nearly bang on, anything less and the speed is noticeably off. This tested with a strobe disc, it's audible anyway.
The belt doesn't appear to be slack, but it might not be pulling the idler toward the pulley with enough force to create good contact.
So, would a belt that still looks tight enough be stretched enough as to cause the idler wheel not to contact the pulley properly and, crucially, could I use a modern Oring made from maybe Butyl?
I read that the deck in the 3600 is basically a Beogram 1100.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
