I recently got my dad's old beomaster 8000 setup (beogram 8000, beomaster 8000, beocord 8000, beovox ms 150s). It had just been sitting collecting dust, and now appears to need some servicing. The beogram arm motor seems to not be working (it moves but then stops, and if I put a record in it doesn't seem to recognize it or come down) the record and the speakers definitely need some work (hooked up the tuner, but barely any noise comes out of the top one. Nothing from the bottom 2). The tuner is a little laggy, but would be good to get that and the tape player looked at as well, although priority for me is probably the speakers and phonograph.

I've tried calling a bunch of local audio repair shops, none of them service B&O products. The nearest official location (via b&o's website) is in Arizona, so I gave them a call and they referred me to Pyramid Electronics here. Gave them a call and they said they have had zero repairs of the 8000s (but have seen some people bring them in, but they couldn't do it). $99 inspection fee (plus I'd have to rent a truck to move them) for a "probably not".

Looking at some of the threads here related to fixing the 8000 is waaaay over my head of what I know about electronics and audio. I would love to restore it because I have some awesome memories of my childhood listening to it.

Looking for suggestions of any known professionals that you may know of in the Texas area or if you really think it's possible for a know-nothing DIYer like myself I can post any photos/details here and it can be a learning project for me.

Thanks!Thumbs Up
