hi all

I have a pair of Beolab 400 speakers and would like to connect them to my Beocentre 9000 - what do I need to do that? I have power link cables but they do not fit the Beocentre 9000 - any ideas?

Unfortunately BC9000 doesn’t have Powerlink outputs. You probably need to use the Pre Amp outputs and a cable like this:  https://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/105-126-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-using-the-powerlink-din-sockets.html#/2-length-1m

but I am sure Steve from Sounds Heavenly (site sponsor) will be along to confirm or suggest another solution 😀

I know I don't have the correct connections on the Beocentre 9000 - it only has connections for passive speakers. The Beocentre 9500 has the powerlink connections. I was operating off a manual online which was for the 9500 at the time I researched the correct connections.

Hi,

Thanks for your enquiry.  Yes, you can connect the Beolab 4000 speakers to your Beocenter 9000, but you will need to use different cables for this Beocenter as it doesn't have Powerlink sockets fitted.

You should see a pair of RCA/phono sockets on the rear panel of the Beocenter marked “Pre-Amp Out Left/Right”, here is the cable you need to connect a pair of Beolab 4000 speakers to the Pre-out sockets of the Beocenter (please note that there are two versions of Beolab 4000 speakers, each version needs a different cable):-

https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-rca-line-in (earlier Beolab 4000 mk.1 speakers with power button and RCA Line inputs)

https://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-using-the-powerlink-din-sockets (later Beolab 4000 mk.2 speakers without power button or RCA Line inputs)

Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch next to the input sockets.  You need one cable for each pair of speakers.
Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
