Hello all, Its been awhile since I've placed a post on this forum, in this time we've located from australia to france. I've recently purchased a mk2 beosound 9000 (actually it was advertised as a mk3, oh well.) This beosound has an issue with the sledge. It will play cds fine in position 1, but will not move to any of the other positions. Ive been able to unlock it from position 1 by using a screwdriver and turning the sledge wheel (as described in the workshop manual) and then the sledge moves freely by hand. But when i select any cd positions the sledge doesnt move under its own power, and if I try to move the sledge manually (with the unit still on) the sledge is locked, if i switch it off, and i can again move the sledge freely.
Any ideas? ive been manually moving the sledge and trying to move the sledge under its own power with the glass taken off. From what I understand the sledge should still move but slowly. I've cleaned the finger detection sensors (even though they looked clean already)
I look forward to your ideas.

Hello, just an update. Ive been able to get the sledge to move between cds 1 -5 by giving the system a good clean, and adjusting the sledge and glass. But it stops before cd6 position. Its not hitting the glass, what else could it be?

Try running the testmodes for the glass and sledge, I think they are 71 and 73. It is described in the service manual.

Hi Weebyx, I just tried test mode 73 and it did the aps adjustment, but when i do test mode 71 the sledge gets stuck 3/4 between position 5 and 6. Its not hitting the glass that I can see. The sledge returns to cd 1 position once the unit goes into standby. Ive checked the tracks and manually (with the unit off) I can move the sledge all the way to cd 6 position. Just use 5 cds? and forget about the 6th one?
Well I had a better look and the cover for the pcb on the left side of the sledge was not put back on correctly so was sitting slighty higher than it should, this was causing it to hit the end stop near cd6 position. I took the cover off, then put it on correctly and now shes working perfectly. Thanks again for the suggestions.
