Sorry, I'm new in this forum. I just bought an old Beosound 1 Type 2581 ( tuner+ cd: sw=1.4,OS=05,CD=4.2) with a faulty CD player. When I insert the CD the player makes two short attempts to start and then stops and eject the cd. With the help of the service manual I entered the test mode. All tests run regularly. The CD tests (61-68) don't run. After typing the second digit of the test (with Beo4) the beosound goes immediately to END. For example, with the TM63 test (start motor) immediately after I enter the digit 3 the unit goes to END and the motor does not run. Is this normal routine? Does anyone have experience with the CD test mode on this Beosound? Should the test 63,motor start, (and others CD tests ) run even if the laser is faulty? Thank you for your help.
