Hi!

As I said in a previous post I am unsatisfied with the center speaker sound in a bv 10-46 + BL8000's and BL 6000's.

Do you think that adding a BL 11 or a BL 2 will improve the center speaker quality or only the overall sound?

In a 5.1 setup the singer voice ( I am speaking of concerts) is high pitched/squeaky....

Liviu_o,

in my opinion it will weaken the center. The center of the BV10 is and will be the weakest speaker in your setup. If you add a new speaker (subwoofer) you add extra volume (lower freq.).

This is were the bv7 and bv4 win over the 10 and 11,surround sound quality due to the choice of better and more powerful center speakers.

Is there a possibility to change the setup of the centerspeaker in the service menu?

If you lower the volume of the other speakers you will notice the center more, I dont know if it is a solution to your problem..

I agree with butch1 this is (one of the things) where the BV7 gets ahead. But bare in mind that a BV7 is far more expensive, it plays in another league. It is like comparing drivers experience in a Bmw 318 and an M3.. Both Bmw 3 series, but they dont play in the same league..

And the BV7 takes alot more space in the room..

I`ve asked myself if there is a solution (changing one of the "hidden" adjustments in service menue)? Any statement from one of our B&O experts???

Of course the BV7-40/55 with BL2/6/10 has a better speaker, but the screen is like dinosaur in comparison to the BV10/11. View the 7-55 and 11-55 side by side. The BV7-55 is like a M1 Abrams tank in my opinion and only an option if you live in large flat.

I also have to agree with butch1 and Rikard: BV 7 is still a better TV than BV 10/11. I have both, BV 10-40 and BV 7-40. The picture quality of BV 7 is a little bit better, but soundwise the BL 10 plays really in another league compared to the internal speaker of BV 10. Before I got my BV 7-40 with BL 10, I always listened to music in speaker 2 mode (2 Beolab 1). But now I often use speaker 3 mode, because BL 10 adds much bass to BL 1 and voices sound so natural and clear with the acoustic lense of BL 10.

So in my eyes BL 10 is the best center speaker over the world, I really love it. The internal speaker of BV 10 is only a good TV speaker, better than a Samsung, but really not designed for "adventures in HiFi". And this becomes really obvious if you use a BV 10 with two masterpieces of speakers like BL 9 or Beolab 5.

Like I have said in a previous post the benefit of the bv10 or 11 being thin, is if it is wall mounted,I see most owners having them on motorized floor stands. As we know thin tvs have thin sound.I wouldnt call it a dinosaur a bv7 with a mac-mini etc is a better set-up than a bv11 smart tv.

Even though the bv7-55 is pretty nig and heavy I would exchange it to My bv10-46 any day. I like my bv10-46, it is beautiful to look at when on and Off. Picture is great, but the bv7 blows your head Off in my opinion..

The question for me was bigger sceen of the BV10-46 or better sound (the BV7-40 in combination with BL1/2/10). The BV7-55, new BV11-46, BV11-55 were no options, because my budget was round 6k. Bigger sceen + style factor won. It`s not a drama regarding the sound, because I´m using a pair of BL9 as front speakers.

But if someone uses the BV10 withount any add. speaker ... poor guy. I sold my 2 years old BV8-40 for the BV10-46 and have to say that the sound of "ugly thing" BV8 was so much better.
