Hello,

I have the following set up.

Beovision 4-65

Beosystem 3

1 BeoLab 7-1

2 BeoLab 3

2 BeoLab 6000

I am playing back a BluRay via the HDMI connected Samsung BD8900. this is set up via DTV connection

The issue I am facing is that sometimes the voice playback is really really quiet. When I click on the remote the TV button then back to the DTV button, the voices are ok again. I have set up the speakers multiple times and all is ok when doing the test.

Any help would be great.

Thanks a lot,

Not exactly, but never mind.

Go into the sound menu, what does it say under Sound system.

Are you danish by any chance ?  (Funktion TV)

Hi, no I am Swiss :-)

Today again it happened. I turn on the BO 65 to DTV then turn on the Samsung BD player. I play the movie and the voices are not there. I switch to TV and then back to DTV and voices are there. This just cant be normal.

This is what it says under Sound System

PCM 2.0

Dolby Pro Logic IIx Movie

Speaker 5

How is the BD8900 set to output a sound format? It should output PCM multichannel through HDMI

Hi,

if you have set the speaker value to '5' there's a speker missing: Where's your center speaker??? The voices will be mostly played via the center speaker.

If you don't want a center speaker you can select 'Speaker 4' to get the voices back. If you select 'Speaker 1' you will hear nothing if no center speaker connected and defined. Wink

The BS3 doesn't have roles. Only with option AST enabled on the mk2 or newer versions, there is some kind of roles.

Hi all, I have set the speakers to 5. I have the full speakers one in front  and two on the right and two in the back.

When first turn on tv and the BD player the PCM is set to 2 and no voice is heard (blu ray is set to PCM) Then when I click on TV and back to DTV, the PCM changes to 7.1 and voice is heard.

Really strange how come the voice is not heard at startup
