Hello all!
After getting my new beovision 11-46 almost two weeks ago, it was time to the first cleaning..

However got more disappointed, because i found dust behind the glass... This is in my mind unacceptable.. I tried to take pictures of it and it is a small amount, not to be seen with the screen on. I can only see it when i'm close to the screen, but when you know it is there, it takes the focus Sad

Well, is this normal for B&O?? It's my first time deal as bang & olufsen, and after what i've been through it's slowly but surely becoming the last..

I have the same problem with my bv7-32 however I haven't had this set from new. I only noticed this when I took it into the shop for a repair and the sun was beaming through the contrast screen. I also have a bv6-26 in my bedroom and that steams up when I have a shower in the ensuite which is approx 5-7m away. Again I haven't had this set from new.

Looking at your photos I wouldn't be happy and I would try and exchange the set. If they won't exchange or repair the set I would ask for your money back and they wprobably will exchange it then. Did they install it for you? Good look

Get your dealer to replace it, they have 30 days from the day they receive it to report it as defective on arrival - dust in the screen would certainly qualify as defective.

That is a clear warranty issue. They shall repace it or "repair" it at no cost for you.
I had some (alot) problems with my first 10-46, I got mine as a demo from the store.
The picture was cloudy, the repairman changed the panel, after that we could watch tv for 45 minutes then the picture became black.. The repairman took the tv and changed the pael again (2 weeks deliverytime for the new panel). We got the tv back, now half the screeen was black.. Our delaer told us we could order a brand new set at no extra charge, with some extras.
I have written about it her on Beoworld.

So - go and talk to your dealer, tell them that you are disappointed, that you had higher thaughts about B&O, after all, people buy cars cheaper than these tv/stereo equipments..

Just wondering what happened with your tv in two weeks, why are you disappointed ?

I'm asking that because I'll receive a BV11-46 on saturday for my parents and I personaly got fade up of all the problems I had on my BV10 almost three years ago (Tv change, panel change, mother board change, Ir sensor change...).

I thought it was "other".

For the dust under the contrast screen I wouldn't do anything appart asking for another Tv (if you ca't live with it) but it may be the same again.

On the two BV10 I owned I didn't had dust on delivery but after interventions on the Tv (to change anything you need to remove the contrast screen).

After each intervention the technician was very carefull with the dust but it's very difficult to leave zero dust (technicians are always in a hurry !).

So one day I unscrued the screen myself (two or four little scrues on the back low part of the Tv - lift the screen up) and took the time to put all the dust off, now it's perfect !

Oh gosh, here we go again...!

I bought a Bs5 in 2009 and it developed dust behind the screen. I complained to my dealer and it was sent to B&O to be cleaned and resealed and came back worse with even more dust.

I complained the dealer and demanded a refund under 1974 Sale of Goods Act and he then told B&O who replaced it for a brand new unit but by then it was too late. The magic had gone and i flogged it on ebay a few weeks ago. Thousands of pounds and what do you get...dust! Enough...!

I have dust and smear issues under my BV11-46 screen, which are clearly on display when some sunlight (rare in the UK!) is streaming in to our living room. You can see the dust, go to wipe it off, realise it's under the glass :( Worse, if you look at the top of the BV11 panel, there's a 3-inch smear under the glass where the person cleaning it hasn't cleaned it properly before installation.

Odd thing is, I never had dust under any BV7 screen and I've had at least six BV7s! Just seems to happen on the BV10 and BV11, here.

As far as I understand, it's not as easy as that on the BV11 - you have to go behind the back of the TV and find the screws which hold the case around the LCD panel (which holds the glass). BV10 was much easier to remove the panel as I saw mine being removed twice (second time to remove the dust from the first panel removal).

Personally the bv7 seems to me to be the only bno tv worth buying.
