EDIT: Okay guys, even with manuals and technical schedules I can't get the problem solved. This is beyond or above my knowledge. If anyone knows a good Beogram specialist in Amsterdam (or surroundings) I would like to get his or her name. Thanks in advance, kind regards, Martijn

Dear people of the forum,

As my Beogram 4002 started to slow down in rpm I thought a new belt would help. But strange enough it seems even slower now at 45RPM. Playing at 33RPM seems okay.

Is anyone familiar with this problem? Answers are welcome, also in my native language Dutch ;-)

Thanks in advance, kind regards,

Martijn

Have you tried to adjust the speed potentiometer for the 45rpm speed? its located on the circuit board inside?

Thanks for your answer Craig. I'll Google (or Youtube) a bit to be sure where this potentiometer exactly is, but thanks for this tip!

Martijn

The new belt is tighter.
Either the motor needs a very thorough service or the new belt has wrong elasticity and/or size and will eventully cause permanent damage to the motor bearings (if bought off Ebay this is very likely).

Thanks for your answers guys! In the meanwhile the platter is spinning again, but I the 45RPM speed problem maintains. My own manual is somewhere in a box in a depot, so maybe I should start searching it ;-)

Hi Martijn

How are you this not an answer for your question, rather I need you expertise on a schematic written in Dutch kindly translate it to English. I hope you got an answer if not good luck.

Thanks in advance

Apart from the potentiometers, the relay is a weak point.

That relay switches in a special way and is no longer available. There is no substitute for it.

I have composed an alternative relay from a small SMD relay on a converter board. This will replace the original relay. That works like a rocket. It is not guaranteed that it is the solution, because of course I cannot see remotely what has happened to it.

But if you have not ordered a good string and, as Dillen has pointed out, there is one that has been bought through eBay, then you probably have a much too tight string that prevents the table from getting up to speed.

The engine can also be the cause and sometimes it has to break up.
