I have recently inherited a Beomaster 1600 model 1703.

The unit has a few problems:

I has a broken tuning belt.  The unit has what look like the same belts on each side.

Can anyone recommend a:

  1. way to repair these belts or
  2. someone who has one I could purchase or
  3. belt of some kind I could use as a replacement?

I've wondered if I could use some kind of flexible rubber adhesive to laminate something like fiberglass or carbon fiber netting or screening across the break.

Please advise.

Everything else seems to work, but a get quite a bit of crackling when either adjusting the volume or tuning in an FM station (which I can do by manually turning the lower roller with the belt out of the way).

Can I do anything to clean or refurbish these controls?

I expect I can use contact cleaner, I just wondered it anyone has any tips for doing so on the Beomaster 1600.

Guidance appreciated.
