Hi
I have a BeoVision 7-40 as my main tv, which has a linked Avant in the bedroom.
when the BeoVision 7 is turned on, I can go upstairs, press link TV and sky will come on, and i have full control. I can also watch the freeview channels on the 7 and DVD.
However, if the BeoVision 7 is turned off, I am unable to "wake" any of the sources from the avant.
I can turn on radio or AMEM if the 7 is off which is puzzling.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
many thanks Paul
Welcome to the forum!
Is your Avant linked using the Masterlink system, or is it just picking up an RF output from the BV7 without using Masterlink? Is this a recent fault, or has your system always behaved like this?
I don't have your particular set-up, but if linked properly using Masterlink then the Avant should be sending a signal to the Skybox (via the BV7) to switch it on without the BV7 itself being on. It sounds as if your BV7 is switching off the Skybox (usually 20 seconds after you switch off your BV7) and the Avant is not separately controlling it either because you do not have a Masterlink connection or the Masterlink system has a fault. If you have an older Avant it might not have a Masterlink built in module.

Graham the avant is linked via master link and a coax aerial lead.
It has worked before in another room, so I am confused as to why it doesn't work now, it is though the beovision 7 isn't getting the command on the video side.
Hi tthere sometimes my setup gets confused and turns off the sky box even know its supposed to be on all the time.
i reset everything and it gets fixed.
do force it on I use go 7 which is the sky button.
cheers

Also, if you have a Masterlink junction box anywhere on the system check that none of the wires has pulled out of its terminal inside the box when you were moving the cables between old and new room locations.
Finally found out the problem, the 7-40 has a "powersave" mode, this stops all video commands from any attached source. By turning off this function I was able to use the avant to turn on the sky box downstairs. Thank you for help to all.
