Hi,
Maybe my last post went. adrift, so I'll try again.
Basically I have a Beovision 8-32 and I'm try to connect up a HDMI DVD player.. I've gone to connections in the menu and assigned AV1 as DVD and source HDMI and saved my settings... I can't find a way for the source to be shown on the TV.. do I need to assign something to the channels, or assign the source settings to the Remote.. Any help for a B&O dummy would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

(If configured that way) you simply push the DVD button on your Beo4.

The rest must be done with the original remote from the DVD-player (except for volume up/down).

No DVD button on the Beo4? Please ask again!

Hi, thanks for the quick reply..
Unfortunately there is no DVD button on the remote.
I've got following layout:

TV / Light / Radio

Sat / AV / CD

V Tape / Record / A Tape

is the remote too old for my requirements?

Well, I thought that that might be the ‘problem’!

Older Beo4’s are from before the era of the DVD - at that time there was an optical media for video called CDV, which had a softbutton on these remotes.

The "CDV"-command on the Mk1-Beo4 is identical to the "DVD"-button on the later Beo4 versions.

The "CDV" command however, needs to be added and can be accesed via the "List" button.

How the "add" a command: Press "LIST" and "standby" simultaniously, then scroll with list until "ADD" is displayed, then press go and scroll until "CDV" is shown on the display. Then press "GO" and the display should indicate "ADDED".

Now you should be able to access the "CDV" command and open the port you have configured for the DVD player.

Alternatively - get a ‘newer’ Beo4.

Hi Millernissen,

since you were so kind to help the original poster with a similar problem, I would like to ask you for your help as well!

It took years to get my sister to "upgrade" from a B&O CRT-TV to a BeoVision 8-32 HD TV, which came through EBay today. It came along with a BeoVision4 "hotel remote". So also no DVD button and I begin to understand that we can't do much with it programming wise...!

I didn't realize, that the plug and play way does not apply with these TVs, but now I am getting older by the minute trying to figure out, how to connect a HD cable receiver from TechniSat with it, if that is even possible.

The menu allows me to decide between AV 1, AV 2 and AV 3 but then I am already lost. Even the concept or structure of the menu is in no way self explaining.

I am used to choosing the input channel and "bam" there is picture... When that didn't work we even tried to connect with the old scart cable, that we used for the old TV. And then trying to find a correct source path in the input settings - no picture either.

Additional, follow up, question: If I ever get the HDMI input correctly connected and set up to work with the digital cable receiver, would it be easy to just switch and plug in a fire tv stick 2nd or a fire tv box 1st generation? I also would have an Apple TV 2nd or 3rd generation...

Support would be much appreciated!

Got help from the seller. Now it works!

If anyone stumbles across the same problem:

You need to do a factory reset first:

Push: Menu Menu 0 0

Go to Factory reset and push ok

Go to Input (in German Anschlüsse)

Choose AV1

Choose DVD

Choose HDMI Yes

Push OK.

Then you are set.

To switch to HDMI now push Disc on remote and there you are.
