I want to lower the amplification of my beolab 8000 speakers is that possible and how can i do that?

Mikipidia:Why? Can’t you just turn the volume down? I don’t get why you would want to, but you may have a good reason so you have my interest
I can understand why - I have Beolab 8000s in my bedroom connected to BS6500. Sometimes when sleep just doesn't come, I'd like to leave them playing classical music, and even at the lowest volume (02) this combination is too loud for that.

If you are using them with the line in then you could put a passive volume control between the RCA out of the amplifier or receiver and the RCA in on the speakers, this would attenuate the speakers and lower the volume if you wanted.
Some of this will depend on what your source is - if it is using powerlink then you may need to get something made up with an attenuator in it.
