When I attempt to copy or play a cd to or from the hard disk my system intermittently switches to standby. There is no problem when playing the radio. This can happen at random time intervals sometimes within a few seconds or several minutes after of playing a cd or attempting to copy to the hard disk. Often I have to make several attempts to play or copy a cd from or to the hard disk to complete the process which is very annoying. Has anyone any ideas of the fault or know of a solution to this problem. Thanks

A Very Warm Welcome to Beoworld..

Has your Beosound 3200 previously worked without problems or is this unit new to you ?

If the problem has only recently been occuring, has there been any recent configuration changes particularly to the MasterLink ?

Regards Keith....

Hi Keith thanks for the welcome. My system is approximately 12years old. This fault has been evident over a number of years on and off gradually increasing in frequency over time, which led me to initially suspect maybe a dry joint but having spoken to a B&O service representative who advised me to try changing the power cord which initially seemed to improve the situation I am now back where I started. Just wondered due to the intermittent nature of the fault whether anyone on the forum have experienced any similar problem before going to the considerable  expense of having to send to a B&O repair centre.

You may download the service manual and check testmodes to see if an error code is stored. I am not a technician myself but an initial check can be done.

Is the Beosound 3200 standalone or is it connected to anything else ?
