Hi Beo-folks,
Was wanting a little help from you guys. Recently acquired a Mk3 Beosystem 3 and I'm in the process of swapping out my old Mk1 on a BV9.
Managed to cable it all up and test, but a couple of issues seem to hampering progress.
1, The motorised stand cable that comes out of the old Beosystem 3 seems to directly connected to one of the circuit boards and pokes out of a hole on the connection board. This means removing either the Top or Bottom (depending on which way you look at it) panels of the Beosystem 3. There are four very flush fitting disks on each panel corner and presume that either a screw or fir clip will lurk beneath, so before I attack with a screw driver and make a mess of the disk/panel, just wanted to confirm that that is the case and there is now better way of removing the panel or at least a technique or removing the disks without causing to much damage?
2, The central speaker (integrated into the BV9) doesn't seem to be recognised or activated by any of the drivers held on the new Mk3. I ran through them all and none produced an output. So, reinstated the Mk1 and looked at the configuration. It seemed to be hard-coded, with no option to change the driver. I'm guessing this is a base configuration element on the Beosystem 3 and will need to be changed in the service menu?
Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for your help
Andrew
Update to item 2. The Central Speaker is working perfectly now. Using the BV12 Central configuration. The AST module in the Mk3 is exceptional. The difference between night and day.
