Hey,
as proud owner of a used Beoplay A9 I noticed today that there is a new firmware available. Well, never change a (super) running system... who cares. So the speaker is connected wireless to my WLAN router, which connects multiple devices to the real world.
OK so i started the firmware update from the web interface of the speaker and the process started, with a prompt that the update may take a couple of minutes ant that i should not interrupt it by disconnecting the speaker from power etc. The change of status to update mode was signaled by an LED on the back blinking red.
Now 1 hour later - that`s still unchanged. No sound signal from the speaker possibly indicating completion or anything else.
WHAT SHALL I DO NOW? Shall i unplug power? Will this brick the speaker or can i in the worst case reset back to delivery state? After being so happy with the speaker for a long time i am afraid that i totally ruined it.
Looking forward to your advice in this miserable situation....
Happened to me with A9 Mk2 with the last fw update... the app and the A9 simply didn't progress anymore after a certain point. Plugged it out the mains, waited 30 sec, plugged back, booted normally and upon the check the app indicated latest firmware.
I am not recommending you to do the same, just sharing what I did. I was so fed up I couldn't obsess anymore and pulled the plug.
I tried on my own risk.... and it worked !!!
Everything as before, including previous/current firmware version
