I have fulfilled a kind of childhood dream and recently bought a beautifully preserved Beomaster 7000 and two Beolab 8000 - used, in very good condition. The Beomaster seems to be working, I test-connected an old loudspeaker to the Din standard loudspeaker outputs, the radio reception works. I connected the active speakers to the Beomaster with the corresponding Powerlink cables, unfortunately without any success. Nothing to hear. They don't turn on when I turn on the Bomaster, only the red standby light is on.

That's why I'm about to buy two Din-Cinch adapters and two corresponding cables to try to operate the speakers via Cinch. Regardless of the fact that this is not in the spirit of the inventor, the question arises whether I might have to TELL the Beomaster somehow that two active speakers are attached to it. Is there a corresponding key combination on the remote control or am I missing an important detail somewhere?

Hi,

If the power amp section of the Beomaster is working (ie. at the standard loudspeaker ports) then the Powerlink sockets should also be functioning.  The simplest option is to try new Powerlink cables, this is the best way to connect these speakers to the Beomaster:-

https://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/20-266-powerlink-mk-3-compatible-8-pin-din-cable-with-4-cores-wired-low-profile-cable.html#/1-length-05m

Please also check that the speakers are set to "L" or "R" via the switches near the sockets, not to "Line".

Kind regards, Steve.
