I have a TX2 turntable that when actuated to lift the arm, the solenoid attempts to engage the gears but oscillates very quickly and never seems to be able to fully engage to allow rotation off the spindle drive gear resulting in arm lift. The solenoid is NOT binding - it's piston is what looks like a newer X-shaped cross section unlike the earlier ones that may have bound up due to distortion to their shape in the tunnel of the solenoid body.
I have not checked any power supply voltages or replaces any caps. Is there one or more caps associated with pulling in that solenoid, that might be tired and not establishing enough power to really pull in the solenoid with adequate force?
