Hello,

I (tried to) install an Atlona Juno 451 HDMI switch with a BV Avant 75 in order to have multiple HDCP 4K source (there is only 1 port).

So far I had some difficulties to have it working... Here is what I did :

  • I connect the HDMI out of the Atlona to the HDMI1 of the TV.
  • I connect the first 4K source to HDMI IN 3 of the Atlona
  • I connect the second 4K source to HDMI IN 2 of the Atlona
  • I plugd the power supply and turn the Atlona ON
  • I turn ON the TV and went into the INTEGRATION menu and select a matrix switch, get the right PUC code, select the matrix in the list and assign it to HDMI 1

That's were it gets a little bit messy. I assign the 1st 4K source to MATRIX3  and the 2nd one to MATRIX2.

I was not able to have them working. I verify the cabling, and every time I select the right source, it did not powered up the right equipment.

I suspect a problem on the IR side of the setup, but when I plugged back the source into their older HDMI ports on TV and reassign everything, it was back to normal...

I am sure I miss something, but I am a little dry on the test I can make... Any ideas will be appreciated !

Cheers,

Serge

I forget something important, the Atlona never automatically siwth INPUT during the test. I use an IR blaster plugged in PUC plug of the TV, and facing the little circle near the brand on the face of the TV.

I find how to have an auto selection for INPUT. Everything was in the web GUI. Surprinsgly it wasn't a default configuration.

I made more test.

The auto switching source is working, as it should.

I rewire everything and was "kind of" able to have the setup working. Kind of because I suspect a mess with the IR connectors. Usiong HDMI, I am able to drive my 3 sources without any problems using the BV remote as they are supported by PUC (same for the matrix).

I connect the HDMI sources to the matrix and let the IR connector from the BV to the source. I assume that the TV will continue to send the IR code to the right source with the previous configuration... My tests seems otherwise as it sound that the IR code for the different sources are sent with the IR devices configured for driving the Atlona.

Does it sound right/normal for you ? I have big unconstitency tests and I suspect the IR plug I bought from eBay to be of less quality.

Can you recommend a good provider of such cables ?

Cheers,

Serge
