Hi,

I have two Beocenter 9000s, one with very dim keyboard controls, and have narrowed the problem with the top panel LEDs to be an issue with PCB 60, having switched it out with one on a working device. I've also been able to confirm that all the LED panels are working by switching out the top section and testing on the working unit.

Has anyone had an issue similar to this? Could it be related to one or more of the capacitors on the PCB 60?

I've worked with Martin in the past and purchased the capacitor kit from him for the CD mechanism so I'm wondering if this is a similar issue.

Thanks,

Ed

I seem to remember there being an adjustment for the display light intensity.
If so, it probably didn't go out of adjustment, but simply failed in need of replacement (and adjusting).

Thanks, Martin.

The attached image shows TEST MODE -- top display middle section LEDs normal (looks a little brighter in photo than it actually is), and bottom display is dimmed with only play button showing normal.  It seems like all sections have some LEDs showing normal and others are dimmed.

When you say replacement, which part are you referring to?

I have a spare Beocenter for parts and was able to resolve the issue by replacing the entire pcb 60 on the back (power supply and output amp).  But I haven't narrowed down what is bad on pcb 60 that causes the isolated dimming problems.
