Help: Just connected my Beogram 3500 to Beosound 9000 and it is playing way to loud and sound cannot be decreased

Hi everyone. 

I have just connected my Beogram 3500 record player to my Beosound 9000 - and there is a BIG problem. 

1) The volume is way to high

2) I cannot decrease the volume level - neither via the remote or directly on the Besound 9000.

I have two beolab 8000 and one Beolab 2 connected to the Beosound 9000, and it is connected to other devices by masterlink. 

Can anyone help me please - what do I do??

Sorry, but sounds like you have connected your BG 3500 to the second Powerlink plug and not to AUX....??

Hi Carsten,

Yes you might have connected your Beogran 3500 to the Powerlink socket {the comnection for you BeoLab Speakers)

Should this not be the case, you have to connect the BeoGram to Aux-In, this input is designed for Line level signal, approx 500mV.

Most BeoGram are to be used on the Phono input, this signal is a Low signal around 10mV, as they use a Magnetic type Cartridge.

So for using a BeoGram on AUX-Line input you will need to use an Pre-Amplifier, many BeoGram did have this Pre-Amplifier inbuild into the Turntable, in other cases an Pre-Amplifier was connected external between BeoGram and BeoSound product. So if you are using External Pre-Amplifier and your BeoGram also have one inbuilt you will also have this problem, too loud and very distorted.

To advise further please then advise how this setup are all connected together, and with what?

You are absolutely right. I actually knew this - but somehow connected it the wrong place. I have now fixed it.
