Hi,

My BeoMaster5 has been downloading new software for the last 14 hours... now 59%

Have anyone managed to try the new version? Is Spotify finally included?

BeoSound 5 - In option 1 the volume will be raised to default when re-activated from linkroom"

We have solved this in software 6.06 released January 9th 2013.

I've been told it solves mainly N.RADIO issues (caused by the currently used version of the
media player)  by replacing the media player,  cover art for FLAC and some other issues.

It took approx 20 hours to reach 90%  ... not finished yet.

Update finished.

Manual setting for "netradio buffer time" disappeared - new automatic function for buffering NETRADIO seems to work well.

"New features

·The driver for Linksys AE2500 wireless USB network interface card is included

·A new player component is introduced to improve net radio playback Please note: The N.RADIO BUFFER setting is removed from the menu as a consequence of the new playback design."

Don't even think of Spotify.

Some of my classical radio stations have disappeared on BS5/BM5 (Abacus**, 1fm**) but they play nicely on the "TuneIn Radio" app.

Anyone who knows whether this is a software issue and will be corrected in the new update?

Cheers.

That should be an issue for Beocare - must be asked!

It's probably not a software issue. Your station was for some reasons omitted during the N.RADIO station update. It happens to me as well sometimes with my favorite stations.

Wait until the next N.RADIO station update, and it should appear again.

The update is now finished and a quick look at the display reveals no changes. As for the missing stations they have not returned.

I have just sent a request to BeoCare.

Thank you and

Hi, I have tried to download the new software with my Beosound 5. But it just says 0% and nothing happens. I tried yesterday evening at 10 pm and let the download progress thru the morning. But still 0%. Is the server with the new software down or does it work fast now? Does anybody know?

Regards
Martin

Had to try twice before the update was successful. First time it stopped at 80% complete and returned failed message. Did a reset of BM5 and then it worked smoothly.

Next time before updating, will reset the BM5.

Hi,

I have tried to download the new software over the weekend. But it does not work. The Beosound 5 finds the software but it will not start the downloading. The display just says "Downloading 0%". The percentage does not change from zero.

The software in my Beosound 5 is 6.05.  What could be wrong with my BS5, or is it maybe B&O:s server that does not work.

Problems addressed

Net radio stations cannot be played or buffer for several minutes
Several drop-outs while playing certain net radio stations
Cover art not shown with FLAC files
Not possible to reduce volume to '0'
BeoLab 3500 - Display always shows CD-128
In option 1 the volume will be raised to default when re-activated from link room
Enters standby without warning during normal use
Inactivity timer turns off other main room products as well

Problems addressed - before 6.0.6!!!

We could use this thread to sum up the problems after 6.0.6 - for posting to the BeoCare.

That was a problem that the new sw should solve!

How do you "save" the covers? As folder.jpg or embedded in the file?

BL 3500 shows as before: A.Tape.

Flac covers are shown as before (embedded in flac file)

I still can play Apple Lossless files since some previous update. Double checked it and rechecked it (Note the BS5e does NOT play these same files. So Twonky is NOT transforming them! ) Files converted with EZ CD Audio Converter to Apple Lossless and are situated on an extern NAS with Twonky 7.1.2

Twonky after update in BM5 is still version 6.x.x

Embedded in the file by mp3tag.

Also the jpeg file is in the folder. Behoren the update I had coverflow of flac music.

No problem with coverart i FLAC files here. Not before the update and not after.

Having the BM5/BS5  combo play Apple Lossless after the update is too much to ask. Isn't it?

Cheers.

My covers are also ok for wma lossless, flac and mp3. I have tagged all music files (around 16.000) with cover embedded and I do also have the cover as folder.jpg.

Bullet proof? :-)

I would also try Media Monkey's edit function for the album.  Choose the cover art tag.  If you have several covers associated with that file, Media Monkey will show them all, and let you delete the ones you don't want.  Then have you BS/BM rescan and the art you left should show up.
