Chris Harrison: Does anyone know which shops are to close in the UK?
Rumours of a big dealer spring conference. Found that on another forum using Google but now I can't find the posting again. Maybe a dealer can advise?

Didn't someone on here mention recently that the UK was likely to be excluded from the forthcoming store closures? It was mostly continental Europe?
Somewhat ironically, my local dealer has been given notice on his store (landlord needs it for other purposes), so has to look for an alternative location and is struggling to find suitable vacant property. The store has to have certain requirements - reasonably low rent, access for loading a van and so on.

Indeed but a little 6 yrs too late? Plus knowing how China is like.... there is a lot of barriers of entry involved in entering that market. B&O might even have to agree to making more products in China. And how is B&O going to market themselves in China when brand recognition is almost non-existent there. Especially now that the really cool range of Beocenters are now deemed over its prime and unnecessary, and have been phased out subsequently. B&O must be ready to fork out a lot or cash to establish themselves there. Luxury label wise although many have taken a hit but most have profited tremendously throughout these tough times. Eg. Hugo Boss and Prada. They have doubled their stock values ever since going public during the most difficult times. I would not have said this if not for the comment that The CEO made to the public that the recession is to blame.
B&O's CEO is simply incompetent to put it bluntly. Of course he had successes before but in a brand with different product philosophy and target market. But whether or not he is able to deliver his wildly optimistic promise over tripling B&O's stock in the next couple of years?.....
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what is going on here. ...

I know I know... Well I am still too young and inexperienced to be in what is dominated by the Alpha males. So what else can I do? I am not remotely Alpha.... well in a way anyway... So this is all I can do... Oh speaking of which I am going to draw up plans for the A9 add ons now lets hope they don't laugh at my amateur drawings... I am not at all classically trained. Plus I am photoshop clueless.
And PS... I really feel horrible for saying this but I think the new CEO is full of sh*t. He mentioned about how B&O will be more focused than ever in audio? First of all is that what B&O is really about? And really where is that focus he is mentioning about? I am not seeing any differences as of yet....
Plus who do you think I am? Steve Jobs or Tom Ford who can just waltz into a failing company and get employed to be a director without much previous training whatsoever?.... Those days where companies take risks are gone.

Yes, they have always been focused on audio. They always cared about having good audio in their tellies, not to mention having good speakers.
They introduced the BV10 a while ago, then tweaked it and modernised it, and we have the BV11. They introduced the A8 a while ago as well. We also have the V1, which is also good sounding from what I heard. There's a reason they never went to market with a 10-15mm tv. They cared enough about the audio quality to not ditch it in favour of going extremely thin.
They have introduced the A9 which is purely an audio product, as is the Beolit12. They have introduced the BL12-1, BL12-2, and the BL12-3, they have just introduced the BL15/16/Amp1, and with so many new and updated (audio) products, I half expect a slightly updated BL5 (the DAC, basically) and an updated BL9 (introducing a DAC into it). Now, the two last product updates is pure speculation, but if you can't see that B&O is once again very focused on audio, you must be really slow on the uptake.
Obviously, I don't care much for several of the audio products. But I can see their use for other people whose needs are slightly less (or slightly different, if you will), than mine.
Edit: I also note that the BS5E is now DKK15.000 in the shops here in Denmark. It used to be 20.000. That's a 25% price reduction. It's not even "on sale", it's just cheaper. Either they figure it's a bit expensive for what it is, or they might be introducing another audio product or an updated BS5E.
